Difference between AI2 and AIO Diapers

At Planet Baby, we offer 3 types of cloth diapers styles:

1- All-in-Two Pocket Hybrid Diapers: One size adjustable with snaps that fits babies from 10 to 35lbs.
2- All-in-One Bamboo Charcoal Diapers: One size adjustable with bamboo charcoal liner and a sewn-in bamboo inserts for maximum absorption.
3- Bamboo Fitted Diapers: one size adjustable with snaps fitted diaper that fits babies from 10 to 32lbs and is compatible with our all-in-two diaper covers. 

We also offer a newborn AI2 diapers. They're non-bulky and have 2 size settings to fit Newborn babies up to 12-15lbs.

The difference between the All-in-One and All-in-Two diapers is mainly the insert.

The All-in-One (AIO) diapers have a bamboo charcoal liner that is very soft and a sewn-in insert under the diaper liner for maximum absorption. Diapers are one size adjustable with snaps. They're non-bulky and have 4 size settings to fit babies weighing between 10lbs-35lbs.

 The All-in-Two (AI2) diapers offers the options of a removable reusable insert. The AI2 diaper shells can be worn two or three times before you have to wash them. The inner layer is premium polyester microfiber fabric athletic mesh that wicks moisture away to keep baby's skin protected against wetness and diaper rash. Diapers are one size adjustable with snaps. They're non-bulky and have 4 size settings to fit babies weighing between 10lbs-35lbs.

You can choose to add different insert material that suits your needs. We offer 4-layer bamboo inserts with a snap, 5-layer charcoal bamboo inserts with a snap, or 4 layer organic cotton/hemp inserts. All bundles include standard bamboo inserts (soaker pad) which are made from 4-layer bamboo ultra-absorbent material, that can be snapped in place to minimize leakage. You can add additional bamboo, Charcoal bamboo or Organic cotton hemp inserts.

Planet Baby Pocket All-In-Two diapers are simple and soft. They’re eco-friendly. The shells can be worn two or three times before you have to wash them. They’re the most flexible cloth diaper system. Hybrid cloth diapers are a perfect long-term cloth diaper choice for modern parents. 

Most full-time cloth diapering parents will need 18 to 24 diapers and double the number of inserts. It all depends on how often you like to do laundry.

Materials

• Inner lining: premium athletic polyester mesh fabric which doesn't retain moisture but rather wicks it to the insert to keep baby's skin protected against wetness and diaper rash
• The outer fabric of the diaper covers is polyester waterproof breathable TPU.
• CPSIA Compliant: tested by a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) accepted test lab. Free from harmful chemicals, materials, and metals.

Our hybrid system is as simple as you can get. It’s also flexible since it works for all your morning, nighttime, and travel needs. Hybrid cloth diapers are also easy to put on and take off. Simply secure the bamboo insert with the snap to the waterproof outer shell, and then fasten the diaper to your baby. When your baby is wet, undo the cloth diaper, easily remove the insert, and replace it with a new one. You can do that a few times—and switch up the soaker type if you want—until you need to wash the hybrid shell your baby is wearing. Dual openings in the diaper pocket make it easy to get the insert in and out.

The Inserts 

Offered in 2 Sizes, all our inserts are machine washable and dryer safe to save busy parents time and hassle.

• Regular size  - ideal for babies weighing between 10-35lbs. Insert size is 14 x 5 inches. (with a snap)
• Newborn inserts are ideal for baby weight up to 12lbs. Insert size is 12.6 x 3.54 inches. Inserts are designed to fit with our Newborn diapers. (no snap)

• Organic Cotton/Hemp 4-layer with a Snap - Premium material and quality fabric. Made from 4 layers of super absorbent soft natural organic material: 55% hemp and 45% cotton.
